What We Know:
White Hill Mansion, located in Fieldsboro, New Jersey, is a historic home dating back to the 18th century, with its main brick section believed to have been built around the 1760s. Over the years, the mansion was home to prominent families, including Robert Field and his wife, Mary Peale Field, who lived through the turmoil of the American Revolution. During the Revolutionary War, the property reportedly encountered both American and British forces, with Hessian soldiers said to have occupied the mansion temporarily. After serving as a private residence for generations, the building eventually became a restaurant before falling into disrepair and later being acquired by the Borough of Fieldsboro for preservation. Today, White Hill Mansion is known not only for its rich history but also for its haunted reputation, with visitors and paranormal investigators reporting unexplained noises, shadowy figures, and other strange occurrences. Some paranormal stories connect the reported activity to the mansion's former residents and its turbulent past, although these claims have not been scientifically verified. Despite its mysterious reputation, the mansion continues to be preserved as an important historical landmark where the stories of the past and reports of the unexplained come together.

Our First Encounter
Our time investigating White Hill Mansion brought us some truly unique and unforgettable experiences, and a lot of that had to do with the incredibly unusual layout of this historic location. Out of all the places we've had the opportunity to investigate, this has to be one of the most maze-like buildings we've ever explored! With its winding hallways, unexpected turns, and rooms that seem to lead you in every direction, it didn't take long for us to realize that this investigation was going to be an experience all its own.
Things got interesting almost immediately! We had barely begun our historical tour when, within the first TWO MINUTES, we heard what sounded like a disembodied voice coming from the room right beside us. Before we could even process that experience, we then heard what appeared to be a child's giggle coming from the staircase. Needless to say, that was one heck of a way to kick off the evening! Throughout the rest of our time exploring the mansion, we periodically heard knocks coming from different areas of the building. At first, we chalked these sounds up to the natural creaks, settling, and quirks of an old historic structure. After all, part of investigating the paranormal is trying to find a logical explanation before jumping to conclusions.
But the experience that REALLY caught us off guard happened later that evening, just as we were wrapping up our investigation. We decided to ask a simple question: "Give us an actual sign that you are here with us."
Almost as if something had been waiting for us to ask, Austin, Wheeler, and Eiji all heard what sounded like footsteps coming from down the hallway. The unsettling part? There was supposedly nobody else on the property, and the front door was locked from the inside. We weren't ready to call it a night just yet, so we made our way down to the main floor to investigate the sound further. And then, just when we thought things couldn't get any stranger, we heard the footsteps AGAIN, coming from the very same area we had just been in. This time, however, the footsteps were accompanied by a whistle.
Was something trying to get our attention? Were we hearing residual sounds from the mansion's past, or was there something else sharing the space with us that night? We may not have all the answers, but the timing of those experiences certainly left us with plenty to think about!
White Hill Mansion definitely made its presence felt that evening, and it's safe to say this is one investigation we'll be talking about for a long time. Sometimes, it's not the loudest or most dramatic experiences that leave the biggest impression on you; it's the moments when you ask for a sign and something seems to answer back.
